Hikvision DS-7716NXI-I4/VPro - 16 Channel 4 Bay AcuSeek NVR

The Hikvision DS-7716NXI-I4/VPro is a 16-channel network video recorder in a 1.5U rack chassis, with four SATA bays and AcuSeek AI video search running on a dedicated second engine.

Important — this model has no PoE ports

The DS-7716NXI-I4/VPro does not power cameras. It has two gigabit network ports and expects a PoE switch. On a commercial site with structured cabling that is usually preferable — camera power stays under the network team's control. If you want the recorder to power them, the DS-7716NXI-I4/16P/VPro is the same machine with sixteen PoE ports at 200 W.

Four bays and full interfaces

Four disks at up to 20 TB gives 80 TB, double the two-bay VPro models. It also carries sixteen alarm inputs and nine outputs for intruder panels and barriers, and dual HDMI so a second screen can show a different view. Those are the reasons this gets specified on commercial jobs rather than the smaller VPro units.

What AcuSeek actually changes

Ordinary recorders make you search by time. AcuSearch improved on that by letting you search by target type. AcuSeek goes further: you describe what you are looking for and it returns the matching clips, in plain English, from the recorder itself. Two AI engines run it — one for face recognition and AcuSearch, a second dedicated to AcuSeek — modelling up to 300,000 targets a day against 172,800 on the standard I-series.

What you'll need with it

• A PoE switch for the cameras — this recorder does not supply power. Tell us the camera models and we will size one.
• AcuSense cameras. AcuSeek and AcuSearch require cameras supporting Hikvision AcuSense with AcuSearch enabled. With older or third-party cameras you are paying for an engine you cannot use — send us your models and we will confirm before you order.
• Hard drives — none are supplied. Four bays at up to 20 TB each. Size them with our CCTV storage calculator.

Does it power my cameras?

No. Use a PoE switch, or the DS-7716NXI-I4/16P/VPro which has sixteen PoE ports at 200 W.

How does it compare to the DS-7616NXI-I2/VPro?

Same AI and same bandwidth. This one has four drive bays instead of two (80 TB against 40 TB), 16 alarm inputs instead of 4, dual HDMI and a rack chassis.

And against the DS-7716NXI-I4/S?

The S has the same chassis and bays but no AcuSeek and no second engine — 172,800 targets a day rather than 300,000, and 16 TB disks rather than 20 TB.

Does it come with hard drives?
