The Hikvision iDS-2CD7A46G2/V-XZHSY is a DeepinViewX camera built for one job: watching a perimeter without crying wolf.

The claim that matters: 90% fewer false alarms

Hikvision states this camera runs a dedicated large-scale AI model for perimeter protection, reducing false alarms by 90% against conventional AI cameras, with a VCA detection range of 80 metres at night and 100 metres by day.

That is the entire economics of perimeter detection. A system that fires at foxes, headlights, rain and moving branches gets ignored within a fortnight and switched off within a month. The value of a perimeter camera is not that it detects — every camera detects — but that when it alarms, someone still believes it.

It supports line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and exit with human and vehicle classification, and combined event triggering so an alarm can require two conditions rather than one.

Optics built for difficult light

• 140 dB WDR — the highest of any camera we stock, for gates and yards with headlights or low winter sun
• 0.0005 lux colour, 0.0001 lux mono, and a P-iris lens that controls depth of field properly rather than just exposure

100 frames per second

In monitoring mode it records up to 100fps at 1080p (50fps at full 4MP). For a vehicle gate, an ANPR feed or anywhere movement is fast, that is four times the usual frame rate — and the difference between a readable plate and a blur.

Interfaces

Worth knowing before you order

The lens choice is the decision. 2.8–12mm identifies at 15m and suits a yard or car park; 8–32mm identifies at 40m and detects at 400m, for a long fence line or a site boundary. They are very different cameras.

It needs 802.3at and draws 23.1W — an 802.3af switch will not run it.

It is a large camera at 377mm and 3.4kg. Check the mount.

The 90% figure is Hikvision's, measured in their standard test environment. Real-world results depend on scene, mounting and configuration — but the direction is well supported by the dedicated model.
