The Hikvision iDS-2CD7A86G2/V-XZHSY is the 4K DeepinViewX perimeter camera — the same dedicated AI platform as the 4MP model, with twice the pixels.

The same claim, and it is the right one

Hikvision state a dedicated large-scale AI model for perimeter protection, cutting false alarms by 90% against conventional AI cameras, with VCA detection to 80 metres at night and 100 metres by day.

That is what a perimeter camera is bought for. Detection is easy; detection that people still trust after three months of foxes, headlights and blowing branches is not. Line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and exit all classify people and vehicles, with combined event triggering where one condition is not enough.

4K or 4MP? A real trade-off, not a straight upgrade

4K buys distance; the 4MP has better dynamic range. That 140dB against 130dB matters where headlights sweep a gate or winter sun sits low behind the scene — the 4MP model will hold detail in those frames slightly better.

Choose this one where identification distance decides the job — a long yard, a car park, a boundary set back from the fence. Choose the 4MP where the light is brutal and the subject comes closer.

100 frames per second

In monitoring mode it reaches 100fps at 1080p and 50fps at full 4K. At a vehicle gate or on a plate-reading feed, that is the difference between a readable frame and a blur.

Is 4K better than the 4MP version here?

For distance, clearly — identification at 22m against 15.2m. But the 4MP has 140dB WDR against 130dB, so in scenes with severe backlight it holds detail slightly better.

What makes it better than an AcuSense camera?

A dedicated perimeter AI model rather than general classification, detection to 80m at night, P-iris optics, auto focus and a heater. Hikvision quote 90% fewer false alarms.
