The Hikvision iDS-7716NXI-M4/16P/X is a 16-channel DeepinMind network video recorder with sixteen built-in PoE ports, two AI engines, four SATA bays and 8K output.

The version with PoE built in

Unlike the plain iDS-7716NXI-M4/X, this model powers the cameras: sixteen PoE ports at 200 W, about 12 W per camera. On a self-contained site that removes the switch entirely. Where cameras sit across a wider network, the non-PoE version is the cheaper choice.

Be realistic about whether you need DeepinMind

Most sites do not. If you want fewer false alarms and quick searching, the DS-7716NXI-I4/16P/S or a VPro model does that for a fraction of the price. DeepinMind earns its cost where watch-list face matching or structured search across millions of captures is an operational requirement — and where somebody will actually administer the libraries.

What you'll need with it

• Cameras that suit the analytics. Face recognition depends on camera position, angle and pixel density on the face far more than on megapixels. Worth planning properly — talk to us before ordering.

• Cameras within the 200 W PoE budget, and 1.5U of rack space.

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from the iDS-7716NXI-M4/X?

Identical analytics and storage. This one adds sixteen PoE ports at 200 W so the recorder powers the cameras; the plain /X needs a switch.

Is DeepinMind worth it over VPro?

Only if you need watch-list face matching, structured search across large volumes, or analytics on many channels at once. For fewer false alarms and quick searching, VPro costs far less.

Does it come with hard drives?

No. Four 3.5-inch SATA drives up to 16 TB each, supplied separately.

Can I run two monitors?

Yes. HDMI 2 runs independently, though it drops to 1080p when HDMI 1 is set to 8K.
