The Hikvision iDS-9664NXI-M8/X is a 64-channel DeepinMind network video recorder in a 2U chassis, with eight SATA bays, full RAID support, two AI engines and 8K output.

Face comparison across 48 channels

This is the headline figure that separates it from the rest of the DeepinMind range. The 16-channel models compare faces on 16 channels; the 32-channel on 32. This one runs face comparison across 48 channels at 48 pictures per second, split across two engines. On a site where identification matters across most of the camera estate rather than a few entrances, that is the reason to buy it.

It also holds up to 10,000,000 face captures across 32 libraries, with 100,000 in the watch list.

RAID, and bandwidth that does not drop when you enable it

Eight bays with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10. Hikvision quotes 400 Mbps in and out both in normal mode and in RAID mode — worth knowing, because RAID sometimes costs throughput on other manufacturers' equipment. Here it does not.

Read the bandwidth against your camera count

400 Mbps across 64 channels is roughly 6 Mbps per camera with everything recording. Comfortable for 2–4 MP at sensible frame rates; not enough for sixty-four 8 MP cameras at 30 fps. Be realistic about whether you need DeepinMind

If you want fewer false alarms and quick searching, the DS-9664NI-M8 gives you the same 64-channel eight-bay RAID chassis without the AI, for considerably less. DeepinMind earns its cost where face matching against a large watch list is an operational requirement and someone will administer the libraries.

There is no PoE — cameras are powered by switches, which is standard at this scale.

Does RAID reduce the bandwidth?

Can it really handle 64 cameras?
