Dahua DH-IPC-HFW21249TP-AS-IL-0280B: 12MP Smart Dual Light Bullet Camera
The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW21249TP-AS-IL-0280B (listed by Dahua as the IPC-HFW21249T-AS-IL) is a 12MP fixed-lens bullet camera from Dahua's WizSense 2 Series. Its 1/2.5" sensor records up to 4480 × 2512, giving more pixels on target than a 4K camera, and the 2.8mm lens covers a wide 112°. Smart dual light keeps the camera in IR until it detects a person or vehicle, then switches to warm light for colour video, up to 30m.
Who is it for?
It suits gardens, driveways, yards, car parks and building perimeters where you want a wide view with enough detail to zoom into recordings. The -AS version adds alarm and audio connections (1 in, 1 out each) for linking a siren, sensor or external speaker, and it has a built-in microphone.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose 12MP over 8MP?
12MP (4480 × 2512) gives more pixels across the same wide scene, so you can zoom further into a recording. Note that full 12MP runs at up to 15fps; at 3072 × 1728 it runs at up to 25/30fps.
Does it record in colour at night?
Yes. Smart dual light uses IR until a person or vehicle is detected, then turns on warm light for colour video up to 30m.
Does it record sound?
Yes. It has a built-in microphone, plus an audio input and output for external devices.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. Recording is local to your NVR or the camera's micro SD card, and the Dahua app is free.
