This is the flagship of the ColorVu range: a 1/1.8" sensor at 3840 × 2160 behind an F1.0 lens, Smart Hybrid Light out to 60 m for full-colour night recording, a 120 dB siren, and two alarm inputs and two alarm outputs. Nothing else in this catalogue combines all four.
At 120 dB at 10 cm its speaker is the loudest of anything listed here — above the 110 dB G3 turrets and the 105 dB AcuSense strobe models. If the camera has to be heard across a yard rather than at a doorway, this is the specification that matters.
More unusual is the interface count: 2 alarm in, 2 alarm out, each rated 24 VDC/24 VAC at 1 A. Every other camera in this catalogue except its 4 MP twin gives you one of each. Two inputs takes signals from two separate detectors; two outputs drives two devices independently — a sounder and a gate release, or site lighting on one circuit and an alarm panel signal on the other. That makes it a small controller as well as a camera.
At 2.8 mm the DORI figures are detect 89 m, observe 35 m, recognise 17 m, identify 8 m, and the supplement light reaches 60 m. Compare that with the compact ColorVu models, which pair 30 m or 40 m of light with similar optics. For an unlit driveway or yard perimeter this is the ColorVu camera that actually reaches after dark.
A 4 mm version narrows the view to 93.3° and pushes identification to about 10 m. Depth of field starts at 3.3 m, so give it room.
Three modes: infrared (covert, monochrome), white light (full colour, permanently lit), and Smart Hybrid — infrared until an event, then white light, colour, strobe and siren. The white light that fires the deterrent is also what captures the colour image of whoever triggered it, so the footage shows what colour the car was rather than a grey shape.
The DS-2CD2T47G3-LIS2UY/SL is the same housing, same 60 m light, same 120 dB speaker and same dual alarm I/O, but reaches 0.0001 lux against this camera's 0.0005 lux — because the same sensor is split across half as many pixels. So the 4 MP is the better performer in genuine darkness; this one is better wherever there is some light and you need detail at distance. It is also the more demanding on storage at 16 Mbps against 8.
120 dB at 10 cm — the loudest camera in this range.
Drive two devices independently — a sounder and a gate release, for instance, or site lighting on one circuit and a panel signal on the other.
No. The 4 MP reaches 0.0001 lux against this camera's 0.0005 lux. Choose 8 MP for reach and detail, 4 MP for the darkest scenes.
No. It needs 802.3at Class 4 at up to 18 W.
