This is the 4 mm version of Hikvision's full-size ColorVu deterrence bullet, and on two specifications it is the most capable camera in this entire range. A 1/1.8" sensor and F1.0 lens reaching 0.0001 lux, Smart Hybrid Light out to 60 m, a 120 dB siren, and two alarm inputs and two alarm outputs.
At 120 dB at 10 cm its speaker is the loudest of anything listed here — above the 110 dB of the G3 turrets and the 105 dB of the AcuSense strobe models. If the camera has to be heard across a yard rather than at a doorway, this is the one.
More unusual is the interface count: 2 alarm in, 2 alarm out, each rated 24 VDC/24 VAC at 1 A. Every other camera in this catalogue gives you one of each. Two inputs lets the camera take signals from two separate detectors; two outputs lets it drive two devices independently — a sounder and a gate release, say, or lighting on one circuit and a signal to a panel on the other. That turns the camera into a small controller rather than just a sensor.
Most cameras do one or the other. The AcuSense strobe models warn intruders off but record in monochrome after dark. The plain ColorVu models record in colour but cannot warn anyone. This does both — and the white light that fires the deterrent is what captures the colour image of whoever set it off.
Three modes: infrared (covert, monochrome), white light (full colour, permanently lit), and Smart Hybrid — infrared until an event, then white light, colour and the siren.
At 4 mm the DORI figures are detect 75 m, observe 30 m, recognise 15 m, identify 7 m, and the supplement light reaches 60 m. That is far better matched than the compact ColorVu models, which pair 30 m or 40 m of light with similar optics. For an unlit driveway or yard perimeter this is the ColorVu model that actually reaches.
At 2.8 mm the view widens to 111.1° but the figures fall to 61 m detect and 6 m identify. Choose 4 mm to look along a length, 2.8 mm for breadth close in. The 4 mm holds focus from 3.1 m rather than 2.5 m.
It needs 802.3at Class 4, max. 18 W — the top of the range, where the plain DS-2CD2T47G3-LIY runs on 802.3af at 12.5 W. At 286.7 mm and 1,250 g it is also the largest ColorVu body. Both are the price of the 60 m illuminator and the 120 dB speaker.
120 dB at 10 cm — the loudest camera in this range.
Drive two devices independently — for example a sounder and a gate release, or site lighting on one circuit and a signal to an alarm panel on the other. Every other camera here has a single output.
Yes. The camera's own event rules drive the strobe and audible warning.
No. It needs 802.3at Class 4 at up to 18 W.
