HiLook cameras by Hikvision come in two kinds. HiLook IP cameras (IPC models) send video over the network to an NVR, and most are powered through the network cable by PoE. HD-TVI cameras (THC models) connect by coax cable to a DVR. This category holds HiLook turret, bullet, dome, PTZ and Wi-Fi cameras.

Choosing a HiLook camera

• Cable: wired IP cameras need network cable. Wi-Fi models need power but no network cable. HD-TVI cameras can reuse existing coax.
• Resolution: IP models run from 2MP to the 12MP IPC-T2120HAP-LUF/SL. HD-TVI models run from 2MP to 5MP.
• Lens: most have a fixed lens. Varifocal models such as the IPC-B650H-Z adjust from 2.8mm to 12mm, so you can set how wide or close the view is.
• PTZ: speed domes come in IP and HD-TVI versions. The PTZ-N4225I-DE pans, tilts and has 25× optical zoom.
• Night picture: infrared models record in black and white after dark. ColorVu models use white light to record in colour.
