Hikvision have finally released a wireless system under their HiLook range. The cameras work up to 50 meters away from the NVR (based on an open, unobstructed environment) and are available in only the mini bullet style and come with a power supply each with a 1.5m lead.
This is a pre made kit and can only come with the 4 x 2.8mm bullet cameras and the 4 channel NVR. Hard drive is selectable - using the H.265 compression format you should get 2 weeks of continous recording with 1TB @ 20fps, more if enabling h.265+ but less if a busy area (lots of scene movement).

Who is the IK-4142B-MH/W for?
A complete wireless CCTV system: a 4-channel Wi-Fi NVR and 2MP Wi-Fi bullet cameras that connect to it over the NVR's own dedicated Wi-Fi network, so the only wiring is a power lead to each camera. It is the kit for properties where running cable isn't practical or allowed — a listed building, a rented home, finished interiors, a garage or outbuilding across a yard — and it records locally to a hard drive with the free HiLookVision or Hik-Connect app for remote viewing. Where cable can be run, a PoE kit such as the 2MP IP kit is more reliable and cheaper per camera. The NVR on its own is the NVR-104MH-D/W.
What you'll need with it
- A surveillance-grade hard drive for the NVR — from the options, fitted and formatted by us.
- A mains socket near each camera for its power adapter, and one near the NVR.
- A network cable from the NVR to your router for remote viewing.
Frequently asked questions
Are the cameras battery powered?
No — each needs a 12V adapter plugged in; only the video link is wireless.
Does it use my home Wi-Fi?
No — the NVR creates its own camera network, so your household Wi-Fi isn't loaded. The NVR itself connects to the router by cable.
What range do the cameras have?
Comfortably across a typical house; thick walls and outbuildings reduce it — test before final fixing.
