The HiLook by Hikvision THC-T140-M is a 4MP HD-TVI turret camera with 20m EXIR night vision, 4-in-1 switchable output and an IP66 metal body. It delivers roughly twice the pixel detail of a 1080p camera over ordinary coax, so an existing analogue system can be upgraded to near-IP image quality without rewiring. Who is the THC-T140-M for?
Coax-based systems where you need to identify people or read plates at short range — front doors, tills, small yards. Requires a DVR that supports 4MP on TVI (HiLook Q-series or above). Need longer reach? The THC-T240-M is the 40m version. Only need overview footage? The 2MP THC-T120-MC is cheaper.
What you’ll need with it
- A 4MP-capable HD-TVI DVR (e.g. HiLook DVR-204Q-M1 / DVR-208Q-M1). Note that older 1080p-only DVRs will record it at 1080p.
- RG59 coax + 12V power per camera, or a pre-made shotgun cable.
Frequently asked questions
Will my 1080p DVR record it at 4MP?
No — the camera will fall back to 1080p on a 1080p-only recorder. To get the full 4MP you need a 4MP or 5MP capable DVR.
Is it colour at night?
No, infrared night vision produces a black-and-white image after dark.
