This is the black version of the top model in Hikvision's G3 AcuSense bullet range. A motorised 2.8–4 mm lens set remotely from software, 60 m of infrared, 130 dB WDR, arrayed dual microphones, a white strobe with a 120 dB siren, and full alarm terminals. Only the finish differs from the white model.
At 120 dB at 10 cm its speaker matches the ColorVu deterrence bullets and beats everything else in the AcuSense family — the 2046G3 mini bullet manages 110 dB and the 2346G3 turret only 105 dB. If the point of the camera is to be heard across a yard rather than at a doorway, this is the AcuSense model to specify.
It carries 1 alarm in and 1 alarm out at 24 VDC/24 VAC, 1 A, so it can take a signal from an external detector and switch a real load — a sounder, a strike, a lamp or a panel input. The 2046G3 mini bullet with the same strobe has no alarm block at all.
Behind that sits 60 m of infrared. DORI at 2.8 mm is detect 66.6 m, observe 26.4 m, recognise 13.3 m, identify 6.7 m; at 4 mm, detect 79.2 m, identify 7.9 m. The illuminator very nearly matches the optics, which is unusual in this catalogue and is what makes the camera useful on an unlit perimeter.
The housing is black so the camera sits quietly against dark brickwork, steelwork or a black fascia — worth having on a 287 mm, 1,225 g body that would otherwise dominate an elevation. The strobe is still white light: that is what /SL denotes, and body colour does not change it. A red-and-blue police-style strobe is the /SRB model.
It needs 802.3at Class 4, max. 18 W, where the plain DS-2CD2T46G3-2IZY runs on 802.3af at 11.5 W with the same sensor, lens and 60 m illuminator.
There is a second, less obvious step down: the plain 2IZY and 4IZY both have gigabit Ethernet, while this model is 10/100. The more expensive camera has the slower port — not something you would guess from the model number, and worth knowing if the install is on gigabit infrastructure.
The zoom is 2.8 to 4 mm — short, not the 2.8–12 mm of the larger varifocals. The gain across the whole range is about a metre of identification distance. It exists so an installer can fine-tune framing from a laptop rather than returning to site. The reach here comes from the 60 m illuminator, not the zoom.
Only the housing finish. Sensor, lens, illuminator, strobe, siren and power draw are identical.
120 dB at 10 cm — the loudest in the AcuSense range, matching the ColorVu deterrence bullets.
Yes — 24 VDC/24 VAC at 1 A. The 2046G3 mini bullet with the same strobe has no alarm terminals at all.
No. It needs 802.3at at up to 18 W. The plain 2IZY version runs on af at 11.5 W with the same 60 m illuminator.
