Hikvision iDS-7332HUHI-M4/S - 32 Channel 4 Bay AcuSense DVR

The Hikvision iDS-7332HUHI-M4/S is a 32-channel Ultra Series AcuSense DVR with four drive bays — the largest coax recorder Hikvision makes below the 9000 series, and the one to choose when a site has more cameras than a two-bay machine can serve.

Read this before you plan the channels

Perimeter protection runs on up to 16 channels — but only on specific ports. Hikvision fixes it to channels 1–4, 9–12, 17–20 and 25–28.

A camera plugged into channel 5, 6, 7 or 8 gets no perimeter analysis at all. Nobody publishes this, and it is easy to wire thirty-two cameras in order and quietly lose the analytics on half of them. Plan the channel map before the install — we will do it with you.

Motion Detection 2.0, which classifies people and vehicles, does run on all analogue channels by default. It is the advanced perimeter analysis that is port-restricted.

Watch the outgoing bandwidth

320 Mbps incoming, 256 Mbps outgoing. The second figure is the one that limits remote viewing and playback when several people review footage at once while recording continues. Competitors rarely publish it; we state both on every recorder.

Up to 96 cameras on one box

Thirty-two BNC channels, plus 32 IP cameras as standard, expandable to 64, at up to 12MP. That is the widest IP capacity in the coax range and makes this a sensible hub for a site part-way through moving from coax to IP.

Two independent displays

HDMI 2 runs at 4K independently, while HDMI 1 and VGA mirror each other at 1080p. Two operators can watch different things — a spot monitor in the shop and a full matrix in the office, for instance — from one recorder.

What you'll need with it

• Hard drives — none are supplied. Four bays at up to 12TB. Thirty-two cameras fill disks quickly — size them with our CCTV storage calculator and use surveillance-rated drives.
• A channel plan, so the cameras needing perimeter analysis sit on supported ports.
• 1.5U of rack space and reasonable airflow.

Frequently asked questions

Which channels support perimeter protection?

Channels 1–4, 9–12, 17–20 and 25–28 — sixteen in total, at fixed positions. Other channels record normally, and people-and-vehicle motion detection still works on all of them.

How many cameras in total?

Up to 96 — thirty-two on coax plus up to sixty-four IP.

Can I run two different views on two monitors?

Yes. HDMI 2 is independent at 4K; HDMI 1 and VGA mirror each other at 1080p.

Does it come with hard drives?

No. Four SATA drives up to 12TB each, supplied separately.

What is the difference between this and the HQHI version?

Recording resolution and bandwidth. This HUHI model records up to 8MP and takes 320 Mbps; the HQHI tops out at 3K Lite on 200 Mbps.
