Hikvision iDS-7716NXI-M4/X - 16 Channel DeepinMind 8K NVR

The Hikvision iDS-7716NXI-M4/X is a 16-channel DeepinMind network video recorder with two AI engines, four SATA bays and 8K output. DeepinMind is Hikvision's top analytics tier — a different class of machine from the AcuSense and VPro recorders below it.

What DeepinMind adds over AcuSense and VPro

The numbers make the gap plain:

• AcuSearch: 691,200 targets a day — against 300,000 on the VPro and 172,800 on the I-series
• Face capture library: 5,000,000 pictures, plus 100,000 in the watch list and 10,000 in the stranger library — against 50,000 total on the VPro
• Face comparison across 16 channels at 48 pictures per second
• Video structuralisation — the recorder categorises what it sees rather than simply detecting it
• Large Model support for perimeter protection on every channel

This is the recorder for sites where the analytics are the reason for the system, not a bonus: transport hubs, large retail, campuses, anywhere with a watch list or a genuine need to identify people and vehicles rather than just record them.

Be realistic about whether you need it

Most sites do not. If you want fewer false alarms and quick searching, the DS-7716NXI-I4/16P/S or a VPro model does that for a third of the price. DeepinMind earns its cost where face matching against a list, or structured search across millions of captures, is an operational requirement — and where someone will actually administer the libraries.

Note also there is no PoE on this model: cameras are powered by switches.

What you'll need with it

• Cameras that suit the analytics. Face recognition needs cameras positioned and specified for it — height, angle and pixel density on the face all matter more than megapixels. This is worth planning properly; talk to us before ordering.
• PoE switches — this recorder does not power cameras.

Frequently asked questions

Is DeepinMind worth it over VPro?

Only if you need what it does: watch-list face matching, structured search across large volumes, or analytics on many channels at once. For fewer false alarms and quick searching, VPro costs far less and does that well.

Does it power my cameras?

No. There is no PoE on this model; use switches.

What does video structuralisation mean in practice?

The recorder categorises what it sees — person, vehicle, attributes — so footage can be searched by description rather than scrubbed. It runs on up to 12 channels at 2 MP.

Does it come with hard drives?

No. Four 3.5-inch SATA drives up to 16 TB each, supplied separately.

Can I run two monitors?

Yes. HDMI 2 runs independently of HDMI 1, though HDMI 2 drops to 1080p when HDMI 1 is set to 8K.
