Hikvision DS-7608NXI-I2/VPro - 8 Channel AcuSeek NVR

The Hikvision DS-7608NXI-I2/VPro is an 8-channel network video recorder with AcuSeek AI video search running on a dedicated second engine, and two SATA bays taking disks up to 20 TB.

Important — this model has no PoE ports

The DS-7608NXI-I2/VPro does not power cameras. It has two gigabit network ports and expects a PoE switch to do that. On a site with an existing switch that is the cheaper and tidier option; if you want the recorder to power the cameras, the DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/Vpro is the same machine with eight PoE ports at 120 W.

What AcuSeek actually changes

Ordinary recorders make you search by time. AcuSearch improved on that by letting you search by target type. AcuSeek goes further: you describe what you are looking for and it returns the matching clips, in plain English, from the recorder itself.

Two AI engines run it — one for face recognition and AcuSearch, a second dedicated to AcuSeek — modelling up to 300,000 targets a day against 172,800 on the standard I-series.

Who is it for?

Eight-camera sites where footage is genuinely used — retail, licensed premises, yards — and where camera power already comes from a switch. If the recorder will only be opened after an incident, the DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/S records identically for less.

What you'll need with it

• A PoE switch for the cameras — this recorder does not supply power. Tell us the camera models and we will size one.
• AcuSense cameras. AcuSeek and AcuSearch require cameras supporting Hikvision AcuSense with AcuSearch enabled. With older or third-party cameras you are paying for an engine you cannot use — send us your models and we will confirm before you order.
• Hard drives — none are supplied. Two bays at up to 20 TB each. Size them with our CCTV storage calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Does it power my cameras?

No. Use a PoE switch, or the DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/Vpro which has eight PoE ports at 120 W.

What is the difference between AcuSearch and AcuSeek?

AcuSearch finds footage by target type — person, vehicle and so on. AcuSeek lets you describe what you are looking for and returns matching clips. This recorder runs both, on separate engines.

Do I need special cameras?

Yes for the AI features. It still records any ONVIF camera; you simply would not get the search.

Does it come with hard drives?

No. Two SATA drives up to 20 TB each, supplied separately.
