Common questions

Is this a 6MP or a 3K camera?

Both. Dahua lists a maximum of 6MP (3200 x 1800) at 20fps, which is the 3K class. It can also stream 2688 x 1520 (4MP) at up to 25/30fps.

What is Smart Dual Light?

Dahua's Smart Dual Light keeps the IR illuminator on at night and switches light when a target appears, so the camera records full-colour video of key events. Read more in our Smart Dual Light guide.

How far does the night vision reach?

Dahua lists up to 30m for the IR and up to 30m for the warm light.

Is the lens fixed or varifocal?

It is a fixed lens. Dahua lists 2.8mm (horizontal angle of view 110 degrees) and 3.6mm versions; contact us for lens options.

Can it be powered over PoE?

Yes. Dahua lists 12 VDC or PoE (802.3af), with a basic power draw of 2.9W on PoE and a maximum of 5.3W.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Dahua rates it IP67 (dust-proof and water-resistant), so it can be used as a waterproof camera and an outdoor CCTV camera, with an operating range of -40 to +60 degrees C.

Is it a turret or an eyeball camera?

Eyeball and turret are two names for the same camera housing. Dahua lists this model as a Fixed-focal Eyeball Network Camera.

What colour is it?

This version has a grey housing. The same camera is also listed in white.

Does it detect people?

Yes. Dahua lists human detection, which classifies and detects human targets and filters out alarms from non-human targets.
