The Uniview NSW2020-16T2GC-POE-IN (UNV) is an unmanaged Ethernet PoE switch with 16 100Mbps PoE ports and two 1000Mbps combo ports. It supplies up to 250W of PoE in total and up to 30W to a single port.

What the NSW2020-16T2GC-POE-IN is for

The NSW2020-16T2GC-POE-IN is for powering a group of PoE IP cameras or other PoE devices from one switch. It has 16 100Mbps PoE RJ45 ports plus two 1000Mbps combo ports, and the PoE standards listed are IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, in PoE mode A (1236) and mode B (4578).

With a 250W budget and 30W maximum on one port, the power is shared across the ports. Sixteen cameras drawing 15W each would sit inside the budget, but always add up your actual devices. Surge protection is listed as common mode ±4KV and differential mode ±6KV.

Working modes include default mode (all ports communicate), VLAN (secure) mode and Extend (surveillance) mode, which gives transmission distance up to 250 metres with downlink ports talking only to uplink ports. A PD keepalive function can restart a camera via PoE if it stops sending messages.

What you will need

You need a mains supply (AC 100 to 240V, 50/60Hz), network cable to every device and PoE devices whose combined draw stays within 250W. The switch has one cooling fan, so allow ventilation around it.
