This is the black version of Hikvision's 4 MP G2H vandal dome, with the 2.8 mm lens. Mechanically and electronically it is identical to the white model — an F1.0 lens, AcuSense human and vehicle classification, a built-in microphone, audio and alarm terminals and an IP67 / IK10 aluminium alloy housing. Only the finish differs.
AcuSense deep-learning classification separates people and vehicles from foliage, rain, shadows and animals, so line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting trigger only on real targets. Face capture is supported.
It is not a cosmetic afterthought. A black dome mounted against a dark soffit, a black shopfront fascia, exposed steelwork or a slate ceiling essentially disappears, where a white one draws the eye and invites attention. Architects and shopfitters frequently specify black for exactly this reason, and on a heritage or design-led frontage a white camera can be the difference between a scheme being approved and being sent back.
The corollary is worth stating too: where the camera is meant to be seen as a deterrent, white remains the better choice. Black works when you want the coverage without the visual intrusion.
This SKU is the 2.8 mm version: horizontal FOV 100.2°, vertical 54.7°, diagonal 119.7°, depth of field from 1.9 m. Hikvision's published DORI figures are detect 63 m, observe 25 m, recognise 12 m, identify 6 m. Treat the identify figure as the working constraint — for evidential facial detail the subject needs to be inside roughly 6 m. A 4 mm version narrows the view to 81.1° and pushes identification to about 7 m.
Aluminium alloy cover and body, rated IP67 and IK10. IK10 is the top impact class in IEC 62262, tested against a 20 joule strike — the rating to specify for shop floors, entrance lobbies, school corridors and licensed premises where the camera sits within reach.
Adjustment is pan 0° to 355°, rotate 0° to 355°, tilt 0° to 75° — just short of a full turn, unlike the turrets in this range.
The alarm output is rated maximum 12 VDC, 30 mA, far below the 24 VDC / 1 A outputs on the bullets and PTRZ domes in this family. Thirty milliamps drives a logic input or a small relay coil. It will not drive a sounder, a strike or a lamp directly — you need an interposing relay for any real load.
Only the finish. Sensor, lens, analytics, ratings and power draw are identical.
It is the highest impact class in IEC 62262, tested against a 20 joule strike — the rating to specify where the camera is within reach.
Not directly. It is a 12 VDC, 30 mA signalling contact, so it needs a relay module.
It supports ONVIF Profile S, T and G, so it will record on most ONVIF recorders. AcuSense classification is best supported on Hikvision recorders.
