The Hikvision DS-2CD2147G3-LIS2UY is a 4MP Smart Hybrid Light dome that combines three things rarely found together: the best low-light figure in the range, a full IK10 impact rating, and a power draw of just 9 watts.

0.0001 lux — the most sensitive setting in the G3 range

The F1.0 aperture on a large 1/1.8" sensor holds full colour down to 0.0001 lux, roughly starlight. That is ten times more sensitive than the standard G3 models and five times better than the ColorVu zoom flagship.

In practice it means the camera stays in colour on streetlight spill or moonlight alone, without switching on its own light at all.

Both kinds of night vision, to 30 metres

Smart Hybrid Light carries white light and infrared together. Run it on infrared for discreet monochrome where a visible light would trouble neighbours, on white light for full colour, or let it switch automatically when something is detected.

Built to be hit, and to sit flat

IK10 is the highest impact rating in common use — tested to 20 joules — and the housing is aluminium alloy throughout, base and cover. With IP67 and NEMA 4X anti-corrosion on top, it belongs anywhere reachable or exposed: stairwells, communal entrances, car parks, coastal and agricultural sites.

At Ø121.5 × 97.6 mm it sits close to the ceiling or soffit, far less obtrusive than a bullet.

Nine watts — and why that matters

It runs on 802.3af Class 3, maximum 9W — the lightest draw of any G3 camera. The deterrence models need 802.3at and up to 18W.

On a 16-port switch with a typical 130W budget, that is the difference between filling every port and rationing them. Sixteen of these need 144W; sixteen of the strobe bullets would need 288W.

Alarm and audio terminals

The S in the model number gives physical connections most cameras lack:

• 1 alarm input and 1 alarm output, rated 24V AC/DC at 1A — enough to drive a sounder or take a trigger from a PIR or door contact
• Audio line in and line out, alongside the 2U arrayed dual microphone with noise filtering

What it will actually show you

Identification under seven metres, as on every 4MP camera — which suits a dome over a doorway, a till or a communal entrance.

What this model does not have

Some retailers list this camera with a siren and flashing light. Hikvision's specification lists neither — there is no built-in speaker and no strobe on any variant of this model. It has microphones and audio terminals, not active deterrence.

If you want a strobe and siren, the G3 strobe turret or the ColorVu zoom bullet genuinely have them. We would rather tell you now.

Worth knowing before you order

The lens is fixed — no Z in the model number. 2.8mm for width, 4mm for a little more reach. Choose before ordering.

Minimum focus is 2.5 metres. Closer than that and the image softens.

A black version exists, and there is a LIY variant without the audio and alarm terminals if you do not need them. Ask us.

Frequently asked questions

What does 0.0001 lux mean in practice?

It is the light level at which the camera still gives a colour picture — roughly starlight. In most real settings it stays in colour without needing its own light.

Does it have a siren or strobe?

No. Despite some listings saying otherwise, Hikvision's specification shows no speaker and no flashing light on this model.

What can the alarm output switch?

Up to 24V AC or DC at 1A — a sounder, a relay module or a gate trigger.

How much PoE does it need?

Only 9W on 802.3af Class 3 — the lightest in the G3 range, so it runs on almost any PoE switch or NVR.
