Hikvision DS-2CD2346G3-IZS2UY/SL 4MP AcuSense Turret with Strobe Light and Two-Way Audio

The Hikvision DS-2CD2346G3-IZS2UY/SL is the fully-equipped turret in the G3 range: strobe light, speaker, two microphones, audio terminals — and an alarm relay strong enough to switch a real device.

The alarm relay is the part worth noticing

Most cameras with an alarm output give you a signalling contact — enough to tell a recorder something happened. This one is rated 24V DC or AC at 1 amp.

That is roughly thirty times the current of the G3 mini dome's 30mA output, and it changes what the camera can do. It can drive a sounder, a relay module, a gate trigger or a floodlight contactor directly — so the camera becomes the trigger for the site's response, not just a witness to it.

There is also an alarm input, so a PIR, beam or door contact can trigger the camera the other way round.

Active deterrence, properly stacked

Detection triggers a chain: AcuSense classifies a person, the white strobe fires, an audible warning plays through the speaker (105 dB at 10cm), the alarm output switches whatever you have wired to it, and you get a notification with the option to speak live through the two arrayed microphones and speaker.

AcuSense is what makes this survivable on a real site. A strobe and siren firing at every cat gets disabled within a week; classification means it fires for people and vehicles and ignores the rest.

Worth knowing before you order

It needs 802.3at PoE. At up to 18W this is the heaviest draw in the G3 range — strobe, speaker and audio hardware all cost power. An 802.3af switch will not run it. Budget carefully if you are fitting several.

Point the strobe with care. White light is visible to neighbours as well as intruders. Aimed into your own yard it is excellent; aimed across a residential street it will cause complaints.

Frequently asked questions

What can the alarm output actually switch?

Up to 24V DC or AC at 1A — enough for a sounder, a relay module, a gate trigger or a lighting contactor. Considerably more than the signalling-only outputs on most cameras.

Can I speak through it live?

Yes. Two microphones and a speaker give live two-way audio through Hik-Connect or a compatible NVR, as well as pre-recorded warnings.

What is the difference from the /SRB?

Light colour. /SL is a white strobe; /SRB flashes red and blue, which is markedly more assertive.

Will my PoE switch run it?

Only if it supports 802.3at. At 18W this exceeds what 802.3af provides.

How does it compare to the bullet version?

The DS-2CD2046G3-IZ2UY/SL bullet has the same strobe and audio but a lighter alarm output and a 40m IR range. This turret is lower profile with the stronger relay.
