A turret, not a bullet

Everything else with this reach in the range is a bullet. This is a turret — lower profile, harder to knock out of alignment, and less visually dominant on a building frontage. The H in the model number is Hikvision's code for a varifocal turret.

It is rated IK10 (20-joule impact), IP67 and NEMA 4X anti-corrosion, with a metal base and cover.

Worth knowing before you order

12MP records at 20fps, not 25. Drop to 4K and you get a full 25fps. For most surveillance 20fps is smooth, but at a till or a fast doorway, 4K at 25fps may be the better record.

It draws up to 22W on 802.3at — the heaviest of any camera in this range. Four of these need 88W before you add anything else, so check your switch or NVR budget carefully.

Infrared only, no white light. Night footage is monochrome. If you want colour after dark, the ColorVu zoom bullets use white light instead.

No image stabilisation on this model, unlike the ColorVu zoom bullets — worth knowing if you are pole-mounting.

24.1 metres zoomed in, 11.3 metres at the wide end — the longest identification range of any camera we stock.

Does it record in colour at night?

No. It uses infrared, so night footage is monochrome. For colour after dark, see the ColorVu zoom bullets.

Why 20fps at full resolution?

12MP is a very large frame. Step down to 4K for a full 25fps if motion matters more than maximum detail.

Will my PoE switch run it?

Only if it supports 802.3at, and with headroom — this draws up to 22W, the most of any camera in the range.

What does the H mean in the model number?
