The Hikvision DS-2CD2T46G3-IZS2UY/SL is the fully-equipped G3 bullet — the only one that combines long-range infrared, a strobe, a 120 dB siren, two microphones and an alarm relay in one body.

The alarm relay is the quiet advantage

Rated 24V AC or DC at 1 amp, the output can drive a sounder, a relay module, a gate trigger or a lighting contactor directly — not just signal a recorder. There is an alarm input too, so a PIR, beam or door contact can trigger the camera the other way round.

That turns the camera into the thing that triggers the site's response, rather than a witness to it.

Deterrence that survives a real site

Detection sets off a chain: AcuSense classifies a person, the white strobe fires, a warning plays through the 120 dB speaker — the loudest in the range — the alarm output switches whatever you have wired, and you get a notification with the option to speak live through the two arrayed microphones.

The classification is what makes it usable. A siren firing at every cat gets switched off within a week; people-and-vehicle detection means it fires for what matters.

What it will actually show you

The 60 metres of infrared roughly matches the detection range, so the camera can see across the whole area it can detect in. Identification still happens under eight metres, as on every 4MP camera — so use this to cover the area and put a second camera where people actually pass.

Worth knowing before you order

It needs 802.3at PoE — up to 18W. Eight of these require 144W of switch budget.

Infrared only, no white light. Night footage is monochrome; for colour after dark see the ColorVu models.

Point the strobe with care on a residential boundary — it is visible to neighbours as well as intruders.

It is a substantial camera at 287mm and 1.2kg. Check the mounting surface.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the plain 60m bullet?

Same sensor and same reach, but this adds a white strobe, a 120 dB speaker, two microphones and an alarm relay. The plain model has none of those.

What can the alarm output switch?

Up to 24V AC or DC at 1A — a sounder, a relay module, a gate trigger or a lighting contactor.

Can I speak through it live?

Yes. Two microphones and a speaker give live two-way audio through Hik-Connect or a compatible NVR, as well as pre-recorded warnings.

Will it trigger on animals?

It should not. AcuSense classifies people and vehicles specifically, which is what stops a deterrence camera becoming a nuisance.

What is the difference from the /SRB?

Light colour only. /SL is a white strobe; /SRB flashes red and blue, which is markedly more assertive.
