The Hikvision DS-7216HQHI-K2/P - 3MP TURBO HD 4 CHANNEL 1 SATA POC DVR is part of Hikvision’s digital video recorder (DVR/XVR) range.
Who is it for?
A DVR records cameras over coaxial cable. Multi-format models accept HD-over-coax, AHD, TVI and older analogue cameras on any channel, and many take IP cameras too — so an existing analogue system can be upgraded camera by camera rather than all at once.
Choosing the right recorder
- Channels. One per camera, with room to expand. Buy the larger option if there is any chance of adding cameras.
- Maximum resolution. Check the recorder supports the resolution of the cameras you are fitting, or it will record them at less.
- Audio over coax on some models records sound from compatible cameras down the same cable — useful at a till or counter, provided you display signage saying audio is recorded.
- Drive bays determine how long you can keep footage.
What you will need
- A surveillance-grade hard drive, fitted and formatted by us before dispatch.
- RG59 coax and 12V power to each camera, plus a multi-way PSU — the recorder does not power cameras.
- A network cable from the recorder to your router for app access.
Frequently asked questions
Will it work with the cameras I already have?
On a multi-format recorder, yes — each channel auto-detects the camera type, so you can mix old and new.
Is there a monthly fee?
No — local recording and a free app.
Can I add IP cameras later?
Many models take IP cameras on additional channels. Ask us and we will confirm for your recorder.
