The Hikvision DS-PWA64-Kit2-WE is a complete AX PRO wireless intruder alarm in one box, built around a 64-zone panel and controlled by a keypad with tag reader.

Exactly what is in the box

Kit 2 or Kit 1? One component apart

The two kits are identical except for how you arm and disarm:

• This kit gives you a keypad with a tag reader — code or tag entry at a fixed point. Best where several people need access, where staff come and go, or where you would rather not manage fobs that can be lost or lent.
• Kit 1 gives you two key fobs instead — arm and disarm from your pocket without stopping at a panel. Better for a household or a small team.

Panel, sounder, both PIRs and the door contact are identical in each. Either component can be added to either kit later — the panel takes 8 keypads and 32 fobs.

Why the keypad suits commercial sites

Each user gets their own code or tag, and the panel holds 30 users and 32 tags with a 5,000-event log. That means the log shows who armed or disarmed the system and when — which matters when something goes missing overnight and you need to know who was last on site.

A lost fob has to be deleted and replaced; a lost tag is the same, but a code can simply be changed.

Three ways to stay connected

Wired ethernet, Wi-Fi and GPRS are all on board, with a SIM slot. A cut line or dropped broadband does not take the system offline — it falls back.

Radio runs at 868 MHz with frequency hopping and AES-128 encryption. The 868 band is reserved for alarms in the UK, so it is far less congested than the 433 MHz used by cheaper systems.

For professional installers

Reports to an Alarm Receiving Centre over SIA DC09 (SIA Level 2 and Contact ID), ISUP and ISAPI, with Hik-IP Receiver and Hik-IP Receiver Pro (Sur-Gard and Ademco 685 emulation), including video verification and remote control.

Programming via Hik-Connect, Hik-ProConnect, the web portal, iVMS-4200 or Convergence Cloud, with a separate installer app, offline web configuration and app-based diagnostics.

Worth knowing before you order

The panel is indoor only, rated −10°C to +55°C.

The 12-hour battery is a backup, and drops considerably in the cold.

Site the keypad inside the protected area, on the entry route, so the entry timer starts when the door opens rather than leaving the keypad exposed.

ARC monitoring is a separate service. The panel supports it; the contract is with a monitoring provider.

What is the difference between Kit 2 and Kit 1?

Can I add key fobs to this kit?

Yes — the panel supports up to 32 fobs and 32 tags alongside the keypad.

Does the log show who disarmed it?

What happens if the broadband drops?

It falls back to Wi-Fi or GPRS over the SIM.

Is 868 MHz better than 433 MHz?

Yes — it is the reserved UK alarm band, far less congested, and this panel adds frequency hopping and AES-128.

Can it be monitored professionally?

Yes, over SIA DC09, Contact ID, ISUP and ISAPI with video verification. Monitoring is contracted separately.
