Hikvision DS-PDMC-EG2-WE(B) AX PRO Wireless Door Contact with Wired Input

The Hikvision DS-PDMC-EG2-WE(B) is the wireless door and window contact for the AX PRO range — and it does something most magnetic contacts do not: it also takes a wired input.

The wired input is the useful part

Alongside the magnet, there is an alarm input terminal supporting normally closed, normally open and impulse count modes. That turns this from a door contact into a bridge between wired devices and a wireless panel.

Practical uses:

• Reuse existing wired contacts on a retrofit, rather than replacing every one
• Bring in a shock sensor, roller-shutter contact or panic button that has no radio of its own
• Impulse count mode suits pulse-output devices — a meter, a flow switch, a counted input

On a job where the building already has wiring in the right places, this one component often saves replacing a dozen devices.

As a door contact

The magnet and sensor separate to 43 mm maximum, which is generous — enough for a misaligned door, a thick frame, or a UPVC window where the two halves cannot sit tight together. A tighter gap tolerance is the usual cause of a contact that nuisance-triggers on a windy day.

It comes as two parts: the 24 × 104 × 24.4 mm transmitter and a slim 13 × 34.4 × 11.4 mm magnet.

Five years on one battery

A single CR123A lithium cell gives up to five years of standby. Across a house with contacts on every external door and accessible window, that matters more than on any other device in the system.

Radio built for alarms

Tri-X two-way wireless at 868 MHz with AES-128 encryption and frequency hopping, with 1.6 km free-space range. Two-way means the panel confirms receipt rather than assuming — a one-way contact cannot tell you it failed to report.

Enrolment is by power-up, remote ID or QR code.

Tamper protection front and rear

Both cover and backplate are monitored, so prising the contact off the frame raises an alarm as readily as opening it. There are also temperature and signal strength indicators, so you can confirm a position has adequate signal before fixing it.

It needs an AX PRO panel. A wireless device for the AX PRO system — not standalone, and not compatible with other manufacturers.

The wired input uses the same zone as the contact itself — plan zone allocation accordingly on a large system.
