DS-TCP440-B — 4 MP Parking Bay Camera, 4mm, 3 Spaces, PoE

The DS-TCP440-B is a parking bay camera covering up to three spaces. Mounted on the ceiling of a multi-storey or covered car park, it watches up to 3 bays, works out which are occupied and which are free, and reads the plate of the vehicle in each one. The result drives the indicator lamps above the bays and the counts on the entrance sign, so drivers are sent straight to a free space instead of circling.

This is the 4 mm version, which gives a narrower view than the 2.8 mm model and suits a higher ceiling. It uses a built-in deep-learning algorithm for plate recognition and space detection. Power comes from Hikvision PoE or 12–24 V DC, and there is an interface for three LED bay lamps on the unit itself.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the 2.8 mm or the 4 mm version?

The 4 mm lens gives a narrower, longer view, which suits a higher ceiling; the 2.8 mm gives a wider view for a lower one. Send us the ceiling height and bay layout and we will tell you which one fits.

How many parking spaces does one camera cover?

Up to 3. The exact number depends on the bay width and the ceiling height, so the spacing on your drawing matters more than the headline figure.

Does it read number plates as well as detecting spaces?

Yes. Hikvision lists a built-in AI deep-learning algorithm supporting both ANPR and parking space detection, so you can find a car by its plate as well as count free bays.

Will it work outdoors?

It is designed for indoor and covered car parks. For an open-air car park, ask us about the outdoor parking range instead.

How is it powered?

Hikvision PoE, or 12 to 24 V DC wide-range voltage. In practice that means one Cat6 run per camera back to a PoE switch.
