Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Smoke/Sounder) Jeweller Wireless Smoke Detector with Sounder

Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Smoke/Sounder) Jeweller - Wireless Smoke Detector with Sounder

EN54 FireProtect (Smoke/Sounder) Jeweller combines a smoke detector and a fire alarm sounder in one wireless addressable device for the Ajax EN54 fire alarm system. Its dual-spectrum optical sensor watches for smoke and does not react to water vapour, and the sounder can play any of 32 tones at up to 93 dB at 1 m. When the system goes into alarm, the sound is synchronised across every sounder connected to the same EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, so they all sound together. An alarm annunciation test lets you check that the signal can be heard clearly in the room. Two CR123A batteries, fitted at the factory, run it for up to 5 years. Choose black or white above.

Also listed as 119920 (black) and 119919 (white). Ajax model ID FP.54SA.J.

Technical specification

Works with

EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, directly or through an EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller range extender. Ajax lists EN54 Indicator Jeweller as compatible, for a remote indicator. It sounds together with the other EN54 FireProtect sounders and sounder detectors on the same panel.

Common questions

Do I still need separate sounders?

That depends on the design. This device sounds at the detector itself. Whoever designs the system decides whether extra EN54 sounders or VADs are needed to reach the sound levels each area needs.

How loud is it?

Up to 93 dB at 1 m on tones 2 and 7 at the maximum setting. There are 32 tones in total, and the level depends on the tone chosen.

Will all the sounders go off together?

Yes. Ajax synchronises the audible alarm on every device with a sounder connected to the same EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller.

How is it different from EN54 FireProtect (Smoke) Jeweller?

The Smoke version has the same smoke sensor but no sounder, and Ajax rates its batteries for up to 6 years rather than 5.

Can it be fitted outdoors?

No. Ajax rates it for indoor use (IP21C) at 0 °C to +50 °C with humidity up to 80%.
