This is the black version of Hikvision's longest-range G3 AcuSense bullet. A motorised 2.8–4 mm lens set remotely from software after mounting, 80 m of infrared, 130 dB WDR and a gigabit Ethernet port. Only the finish differs from the white model.
This is the whole reason the 4IZY exists alongside the 2IZY. The two cameras are identical in sensor, lens, analytics, housing and dimensions. The only differences are the illuminator and the power that drives it:
An extra 20 m of usable night range for one watt, and still on a standard af port. For a long unlit driveway, a yard perimeter or an approach road, that is a straightforward decision — and £9 trade.
Worth being straight about this, because it is unusual. DORI at 2.8 mm is detect 66.6 m, observe 26.4 m, recognise 13.3 m, identify 6.7 m; at 4 mm, detect 79.2 m, identify 7.9 m.
So the 80 m illuminator actually reaches slightly beyond the camera's detection range. Almost every other camera in this catalogue has the opposite problem — 30 m of IR against 89 m of optics. Here you are getting the full benefit of the lens after dark, with nothing left on the table.
At 287 mm and 1,165 g this is a full-size bullet, so the finish does real work. Against dark brickwork, exposed steelwork, a black fascia or a slate soffit it recedes where a white body of this size would dominate an elevation. Where the camera is meant to be seen as a deterrent, white does that better.
A 10/100/1000 port, where almost everything else in this catalogue — including the 4K and 12 MP models — is 10/100. At an 8 Mbps stream that changes nothing for one camera, but it matters on gigabit switching infrastructure.
The zoom is 2.8 to 4 mm — short, not the 2.8–12 mm of the larger varifocals. The gain across the whole range is about a metre of identification distance. It exists so an installer can fine-tune framing from a laptop rather than returning to site. Specify it for mounting flexibility; the reach here comes from the illuminator, not the zoom.
This model has no microphone, no speaker and no audio or alarm terminal block — Ethernet, microSD and reset key are the only interfaces. For audio or an on-camera siren, the DS-2CD2T46G3-IZS2UY/SL adds both, though that model carries only 60 m of IR.
Dynamic range is 130 dB, above the 120 dB of the G2H range. But the aperture is F1.6 on a 1/3" sensor, so minimum illumination is 0.001 lux — the same as the G2H turrets. Its night advantage is entirely the 80 m illuminator.
Only the finish. Sensor, lens, illuminator, analytics and power draw are identical.
If the view is long and unlit, yes — 80 m of infrared against 60 m, for one extra watt and about £9 trade. Everything else about the two cameras is the same.
No. This model has no audio hardware at all.
Yes — 12.5 W on Class 3, despite the 80 m illuminator.
