This is the black version of the only dual-lens camera in this catalogue. Inside one housing sit two complete 4 MP cameras, each with its own 1/3" sensor and its own motorised 2.8–4 mm lens, and each aimable independently through a full 360°. Add a white strobe and a 110 dB siren, and it covers two directions from a single mounting point and a single cable.

Two cameras, one cable, one hole in the wall

This is the whole point of the model. Each channel has its own sensor, its own motorised lens and its own pan 0–360°, tilt 0–75°, rotate 0–360° adjustment. You can aim one down a driveway and the other across a frontage, or cover both approaches to a corner, from one position.

Where it earns its price is on installs where cabling is the expensive part. One cable run, one PoE port, one bracket and one penetration, instead of two of each. On a long run to a gate, a remote corner of a yard, or a listed building where drilling is restricted, that saves more than the camera costs.

Both channels record the same specification: 2688 × 1520 at 25 fps, F1.6, 0.001 lux in colour, and identical DORI — detect 66.6 m, recognise 13.3 m, identify 6.7 m at 2.8 mm; detect 79.2 m, identify 7.9 m at 4 mm.

Three things to check before you specify it

• It will use two channels on your recorder. Dual-lens cameras present as two streams, so budget recorder capacity and licensing accordingly — the saving is in cabling, not channel count.
• The third stream runs at 1 fps, against 10 fps on the single-lens G3 models. Fine for a low-bandwidth remote view; not usable as a working stream.
• 120 dB WDR, not the 130 dB of the single-lens G3 cameras. A small step down against strong backlight.

Deterrence built in

A white strobe and a 110 dB siren, driven by the camera's own event rules, so deterrence works on a standalone install. The housing is black, the flashing light is still white — that is what /SL denotes. A red-and-blue police-style strobe is the /SRB model.

There is no alarm terminal block, so it deters using its own hardware rather than switching external devices.

Twice the privacy masking

It carries 8 programmable polygon privacy masks where the single-lens models give 4 — four per channel. Worth knowing where the camera overlooks neighbouring property on both sides, which is exactly the situation a dual-lens camera tends to be mounted in.

It also supports target cropping, which the single-lens G3 models do not.

Is the black version any different to the white one?

Is the strobe black too?
