The Ruijie RG-CS83-24GT4XS is a Layer 3 managed access switch with 24 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and four 1GE/10GE SFP+ uplink ports. It is fanless, with natural heat dissipation and noise below 20 dB, and runs from a built-in AC power supply.

What the RG-CS83-24GT4XS is for

Ruijie position the RG-CS83 series for gigabit access in business systems such as medical care, libraries and exhibition centres. This is the non-PoE 24-port model: it connects PCs, printers, servers and other gigabit devices to the network, with the four SFP+ ports carrying uplinks at 1G or 10G.

It is fanless, with natural heat dissipation and noise Ruijie put below 20 dB. The whole switch draws at most 25 W. As a Layer 3 switch it holds up to 6,000 IPv4 and 2,000 IPv6 unicast routes and a 16,000-entry MAC table, with 128 Gbps switching capacity, 96 Mpps forwarding and VSU support for up to 4 member switches.

There is no PoE on this model, so cameras and access points connected to it need their own power or a separate PoE source. The RG-CS83-24GT4XS-P is the 24-port version with PoE/PoE+ on every RJ45 port.

What you will need

A mains supply (100 V AC to 240 V AC) for the built-in power supply and rack or shelf space for a 1 RU unit, 442 mm wide and 220 mm deep. The four SFP+ ports need SFP or SFP+ modules or direct-attach cables, which Ruijie's ordering line does not list, plus network cable to each device. Any PoE devices need a separate source such as a PoE switch or a PoE injector.
