The Ruijie RG-CS83-24GT4XS-PD is a Layer 3 managed access switch with 24 gigabit RJ45 ports that all support PoE/PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at) and four 1GE/10GE SFP+ uplinks. Power comes from two pluggable module slots, and at least one RG-PA600I-P-F or RG-PA1000I-P-F module must be bought with it.
What the RG-CS83-24GT4XS-PD is for
Ruijie describe the RG-CS83-24GT4XS-PD as gigabit access with PoE+ for large-sized networks. It has larger tables than the fixed-supply RG-CS83 models: 32,000 MAC entries, 8,000 IPv4 and 4,000 IPv6 unicast routes, 3 MB of switch buffer and 2 GB of flash, alongside 128 Gbps switching capacity, 96 Mpps forwarding and VSU support for up to 4 member switches.
The PoE budget depends on the power modules fitted: 370 W with one RG-PA600I-P-F, and 740 W with one RG-PA1000I-P-F or two RG-PA600I-P-F. Each port provides up to 30 W, so running all 24 ports at full power (720 W) needs a 740 W configuration. It suits a cabinet that powers many devices such as access points and IP cameras. Devices needing more than 30 W per port (802.3bt PoE++) are outside what it supplies.
With two modules fitted, 1+1 power redundancy applies only while the total PoE load stays below what a single module can deliver, and the modules are hot-swappable. The unit is deeper and louder than the fixed-supply models: 420 mm deep, with fan noise rated at 51.6 dB at 27°C (57.4 dB at 45°C), so allow for that when choosing where to rack it. It has a console port and a separate RJ45 MGMT port.

What you will need
At least one power module, RG-PA600I-P-F or RG-PA1000I-P-F, which Ruijie's ordering line says must be purchased with the switch; it has no fixed power supply. Choose by PoE load: 370 W with one RG-PA600I-P-F, 740 W with one RG-PA1000I-P-F or two RG-PA600I-P-F. You also need rack space for a 1 RU unit, 442 mm wide and 420 mm deep, SFP or SFP+ modules or direct-attach cables for the uplinks, and network cable to each device.
