The Ruijie Reyee RG-ES08F is an 8-port 10/100 Mbps unmanaged switch. It works without configuration and gives you eight Fast Ethernet ports for adding wired devices to your network.

What the RG-ES08F is for

Ruijie positions the RG-ES08F for home office, cafe, retail and surveillance networks. It is a Layer 2 unmanaged switch, so there is nothing to configure: connect your devices and it works.

Every port runs at 10/100 Mbps, with a total switching capacity of 1.6 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 1.19 Mpps. That suits devices that only need Fast Ethernet, but it is not the switch for gigabit links. If you need gigabit ports, look at the RG-ES08G-L or browse our network switches.

Ruijie say it can show on Ruijie Cloud, provided at least one managed switch is deployed on the same network. On its own it is not managed.

What you will need

You need a router or another switch to connect it to, mains power for the switch itself, and Ethernet patch cable for each device. It supplies no PoE, so PoE cameras or access points connected to it need a separate PoE injector or a PoE switch. To see it in Ruijie Cloud you also need at least one managed switch on the same network.

Does the RG-ES08F supply PoE?

No. Ruijie list the RG-ES08F as a non-PoE switch, so it does not power cameras or access points. Use a PoE switch or injector for those.

How fast are the ports on the RG-ES08F?

All eight RJ45 ports run at 10/100 Mbps. The switching capacity is 1.6 Gbps and the forwarding rate is 1.19 Mpps.

Does the RG-ES08F need any setup?

No. Ruijie describe it as a plug and play unmanaged switch. It can be seen on Ruijie Cloud only if at least one managed switch is deployed on the same network.

Is the RG-ES08F suitable for gigabit devices?

Its ports are 10/100 Mbps only, so gigabit devices would not get gigabit speed. For that choose a 10/100/1000 model such as the RG-ES08G-L.
