The Ruijie Reyee RG-ES205GC is a compact five-port gigabit switch described by Ruijie as a smart cloud managed switch. It has no PoE, so it suits devices that are powered separately, and it adds IP camera and NVR recognition and automatic loop prevention.

The RG-ES205GC is a small Layer 2 switch with five 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports, positioned by Ruijie as a cost-effective smart cloud managed switch that fits the needs of small and medium business networks and CCTV networks. It is fanless, which Ruijie describe as quiet and compact, and it has a switching capacity of 10 Gbps with a 7.4 Mpps forwarding rate.

Ruijie list IP camera and NVR recognition, mobile VLAN configuration, automatic loop prevention, an IPC offline alarm and individual port reboot. VLANs can be configured in the Ruijie Cloud app and switch statistics can be monitored from anywhere. Ruijie also quote 250 metres transmission (marked with an asterisk on their page) and a flexible extend mode.

What you will need

Every device on this switch needs its own power, because the ports do not supply PoE. Ruijie's box contents list a power adapter for the switch itself, a quick start guide and a warranty card. You will need network cable for each of the five ports.
