The Ruijie RG-CS83-48GT4XS is a Layer 3 managed access switch with 48 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and four 1GE/10GE SFP+ uplink ports. It runs from a built-in AC power supply with a maximum power consumption of 40 W and has one fixed fan.

What the RG-CS83-48GT4XS is for

Ruijie position the RG-CS83 series for gigabit access in business systems such as medical care, libraries and exhibition centres. With 48 gigabit RJ45 ports it suits a cabinet serving many wired desktops, printers and other gigabit devices, with the four SFP+ ports carrying uplinks at 1G or 10G.

It is a Layer 3 switch with 6,000 IPv4 and 2,000 IPv6 unicast routes and a 16,000-entry MAC table, 176 Gbps switching capacity, 132 Mpps forwarding and VSU support for up to 4 member switches. It draws at most 40 W and has a single fixed fan with automatic multi-level speed adjustment, rated 32 dB at 27°C.

What you will need

A mains supply (100 V AC to 240 V AC) for the built-in power supply and rack or shelf space for a 1 RU unit, 442 mm wide and 220 mm deep. The four SFP+ ports need SFP or SFP+ modules or direct-attach cables, which Ruijie's ordering line does not list, plus network cable to each device. Any PoE devices need a separate source such as a PoE switch or a PoE injector.
