What the RG-ES206MG-P is for

The RG-ES206MG-P has five 10/100/1000/2500BASE-T RJ45 ports and one 10GE SFP+ port. Ruijie ask why not have 2.5G on every port and point to higher internal network throughput at peak times, aimed at Wi-Fi 7. Switching capacity is 45 Gbps with a 33.75 Mpps forwarding rate.

Four ports supply PoE to IEEE 802.3af/at devices from a 70 W budget shared between them, which suits access points and similar PoE devices within that total. Ruijie also list aggregation of up to 4 ports, PoE watchdog and port isolation.

The fifth RJ45 port does not supply power. The SFP+ port needs a 10G SFP+ module or cable, and a 1G SFP module will not run at 10G.
