The Ruijie Reyee RG-NIS3100-4GT2SFP-HP is a Layer 2 industrial switch that Ruijie design for harsh environments. It has four Gigabit PoE+ ports and two Gigabit SFP ports, with a 120 W PoE budget shared across the PoE ports.

What the RG-NIS3100-4GT2SFP-HP is for

Ruijie position the RG-NIS3100 series as industrial-grade switches for harsh environments, and this is the 4-port model. It is rated for -40°C to +65°C in a sealed cabinet, and up to +80°C in a fume hood with ventilation of at least 400 LFM. Ruijie also give it IP40 protection against 1 mm objects in dusty conditions and 8 kV ESD protection, and describe it as suited to coastal areas where salt spray corrodes equipment.

The four PoE/PoE+ ports supply up to 30 W each (802.3at), which suits IP cameras, access points and similar powered devices within a 120 W total. The two SFP ports take Gigabit modules for a fibre uplink. ERPS, STP, RSTP and SNMP are supported, and Ruijie describe management through Ruijie Cloud or local SON configuration that works even without cloud.

What you will need

A DC power supply is essential: Ruijie state that a power adapter is not included and must be bought separately, with an input range of 12-56 V DC. Make sure the supply can cover the PoE devices you connect as well as the switch itself. The ports stop at PoE+, so a device that needs more than 30 W cannot be powered from them. For fibre you need 1G SFP modules, as there are no 10G SFP+ ports, plus network cable for the RJ45 ports.
