The RG-CS83-48GT4XS-PD is a 48-port gigabit Layer 3 managed access switch with PoE/PoE+ on every RJ45 port and four 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks. Power comes from pluggable modules instead of a built-in supply, so the modules you choose decide how much PoE it can deliver.
What the RG-CS83-48GT4XS-PD is for
Ruijie position the RG-CS83-48GT4XS-PD for gigabit access with PoE+ on large-sized networks. All 48 RJ45 ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps and supply PoE/PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at) at up to 30 W each, with four 1G/10G SFP+ ports for uplinks and separate RJ45 console and MGMT ports.
The PoE budget depends on the power modules fitted: 370 W with one RG-PA600I-P-F, 740 W with two of them or one RG-PA1000I-P-F, and 1,480 W with two RG-PA1000I-P-F, capped at 1,440 W across the 48 ports (30 W x 48). At 30 W per device that is about 12 devices on 370 W and about 24 on 740 W, so add up the draw of your powered devices first.
As a Layer 3 switch it holds up to 8,000 IPv4 and 4,000 IPv6 unicast routes and 32,000 MAC address entries, and VSU supports up to 4 members. With both modules fitted, 1+1 power redundancy applies only while the total PoE load stays below the PoE output of a single module.

What you will need
At least one power module, as the switch has two module slots and no built-in supply: Ruijie's ordering information says to purchase at least one RG-PA600I-P-F or RG-PA1000I-P-F. Choose by PoE load, adding up the draw of every powered device; ports stop at 30 W, so devices needing more (802.3bt) are outside its range. The four SFP+ ports need SFP or SFP+ modules or cables, and a 1G SFP module will not run at 10G. The RG-CS83-48GT4XS-P has a fixed 405 W supply if you want no modules, and more choices sit under PoE network switches.
