The RG-CS86-48MG4VS2QXS-UPD is a multi-gigabit access switch with 48 RJ45 ports that run at 100M, 1G, 2.5G or 5G, four 10GE/25GE SFP28 ports and two 40GE QSFP+ ports. All 48 ports supply PoE/PoE+, and ports 1 to 24 also supply PoE++.
What the RG-CS86-48MG4VS2QXS-UPD is for
Ruijie's page places the RG-CS86 series in enterprise campus networks, and this model's title describes multi-gigabit access with PoE/PoE+/PoE++ and cloud management. The 100M to 5G copper ports suit powered devices such as access points whose network port runs faster than 1G, and the SFP28 and QSFP+ ports give 10G, 25G and 40G links to the rest of the network.
The PoE split matters: ports 1 to 24 supply PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt) at up to 90 W each, while ports 25 to 48 supply PoE/PoE+ (802.3af/at) at up to 30 W each, so put your highest-draw devices on ports 1 to 24. The total budget depends on the power modules, from 400 W with one RG-PA600I-P-F up to 1600 W with two RG-PA1000I-P-F on 200 V to 240 V AC (1420 W on 100 V to 130 V AC).
The specification lists IP routing including static routes, RIP, OSPFv2, OSPFv3, IS-IS and BGP4, plus VRRP, BFD, 802.1x authentication, SNMP v1/v2/v3, NETCONF and gRPC, with VSU for up to 2 members. Three pluggable fan modules are pre-installed with 2+1 fan redundancy, and the two power module slots give 1+1 power redundancy when both are filled.

What you will need
At least one power module: none is supplied by default, and Ruijie's ordering information requires an RG-PA600I-P-F or RG-PA1000I-P-F. Fit two for 1+1 redundancy and a larger PoE budget, which runs from 400 W (one RG-PA600I-P-F) to 1600 W (two RG-PA1000I-P-F on 200 V to 240 V AC). Add up the draw of every powered device, use cabling suited to 2.5G or 5G on those ports, and fit matching modules or cables for any SFP28 or QSFP+ ports you use.
