The RG-ES05F is a small unmanaged switch with five 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports and no PoE output. It works without configuration, and Ruijie suggest it for a home office, cafe, retail or surveillance network.

What the RG-ES05F is for

Ruijie describe the RG-ES05F as a plug and play unmanaged network switch, so there is nothing to set up: connect the devices and it works. It has five 10/100 Mbps ports, so each wired link runs at up to 100 Mbps. Ruijie list its switching capacity as 1 Gbps and its operating temperature as 0°C to 45°C.

It does not supply PoE, so any powered device on it, such as an access point or camera, needs its own power supply or a PoE injector. It can appear on Ruijie Cloud, but only if at least one managed switch is on the same network.

What you will need

You need network cable for each device and a power source for the switch. It gives no PoE, so IP cameras or access points must be powered separately, for example with a PoE injector. To see it on Ruijie Cloud, at least one managed switch must be on the same network.

Does the RG-ES05F supply PoE?

No. The RG-ES05F is a non-PoE switch, so devices that need PoE must be powered separately or through a PoE injector.

How fast are the ports on the RG-ES05F?

All five RJ45 ports are 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet. If you need gigabit speed, the RG-ES05G-L is a 5-port 10/100/1000 Mbps switch.

Does the RG-ES05F need configuring?

Ruijie describe it as plug and play and unmanaged, so it works without configuration.

Can I see the RG-ES05F on Ruijie Cloud?

Ruijie state it is visible on Ruijie Cloud, provided at least one managed switch is deployed on the same network.
