This is the black version of Hikvision's 4 MP G2H varifocal bullet. Electronically it is identical to the white model: a motorised 2.8–12 mm lens set remotely from the browser or client software after mounting, AcuSense classification, 60 m of infrared, and an IP67 / IK10 all-metal housing. Only the finish differs.
AcuSense deep-learning classification separates people and vehicles from foliage, rain, shadows and animals, so line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting trigger only on real targets. Face capture is supported.
Most cameras in this family have optics that outrun their illuminator. This one is the exception, and it is the reason to choose it.
Zoomed wide it detects to 63.4 m and identifies at 6.3 m. Zoomed tele it observes to 71.7 m, recognises at 36.1 m and identifies at 18.1 m. Behind that sits 60 m of infrared — half as much again as the 40 m on the varifocal turrets in the same range. So the useful night distance actually approaches what the lens can resolve, rather than falling well short of it.
For a long driveway, a yard perimeter, a car park or an approach road that has no lighting of its own, that pairing is what matters.
Same 4 MP sensor, same 2.8–12 mm motorised lens, same wide-end DORI. Three things separate them:
Choose the bullet for reach and night performance, the turret for discretion and easier power.
Against dark brickwork, exposed steelwork, a black fascia or a slate soffit, a black bullet recedes where a white one of this size would dominate. Given the length of this camera, the finish does more work here than on the compact turrets. Where the camera is meant to be seen as a deterrent, white does that job better.
This model has no built-in microphone. It has 1 audio input (line in) and 1 audio output (line out) on a two-core terminal block, so audio needs an external microphone wired in. It does carry a proper 1 alarm in / 1 alarm out rated 24 VDC/24 VAC at 1 A — far more capable than the 30 mA outputs on the G2H domes, and enough to drive a real load.
Only the finish. Sensor, lens, analytics, ratings and power draw are identical.
Yes. The lens is motorised, so focal length and focus are set from the web interface or client software — no ladder needed once it is mounted.
No — line-in only, for an external microphone.
No. It is specified for 802.3at Class 4 at up to 18 W.
