The Hikvision DS-2CE12UF3T-LSYE is the full-size 4K bullet in the Smart Hybrid Light family — the one to choose when you need the longest light reach in a camera that visibly points where it is looking.
Three cameras share this sensor and feature set. The difference is body and reach, and it is worth getting right:
| Model | Body | IR | White light | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DS-2CE10UF3T-LSYE | Mini bullet | 30 m | 20 m | Discreet, close range |
| DS-2CE12UF3T-LSYE | Full bullet | 40 m | 40 m | Distance, visible deterrent |
| DS-2CE72UF3T-LSYE | Turret | 40 m | 40 m | Distance, low profile |
This one and the turret reach equally far. Choose between them on appearance and mounting: a bullet announces its direction and carries a sunshield; a turret is lower-profile and harder to knock off aim.
The bracket tilts through a full 180°, against 90° on the mini bullet and 75° on the turret. That means it can be soffit- or ceiling-mounted and aimed straight down — over a doorway, a loading bay, a fuel pump or a gate — without an extra bracket.
It carries both infrared and white light. Run it in IR for discreet black-and-white footage, in white light for full colour, or let it switch automatically when something is detected.
Forty metres of white light is a lot — enough for a yard, a car park row or a long driveway in colour. Worth aiming with care on a residential boundary; unlike infrared, people can see it.
The F1.0 aperture holds colour down to 0.0005 lux — roughly starlight — before any illumination comes on. 130 dB true WDR handles a subject against a bright sky or doorway, which without it becomes a silhouette.
A built-in microphone with 5-metre pickup sends audio down the coax alongside the video — no separate microphone cable. With a PoC recorder that means video, power and sound on one run per camera.
Recording audio carries its own legal considerations — see our FAQ on CCTV law.
4K records at 12.5–15fps, not 25. Drop to 3K for 20–25fps or 4MP for a full 25–30fps. Resolution usually matters more, but at a till or a busy doorway the lower resolution at higher frame rate can be the better record.
The lens is fixed — 2.8mm for width, 3.6mm for a little more reach. Choose before ordering.
Hikvision recommends one power adapter per camera rather than sharing a supply — or use a PoC recorder and avoid the question.
They reach equally far. A bullet visibly points and has a sunshield, which suits driveways, yards and fence lines. A turret is lower profile and harder to knock out of alignment, which suits entrances and reachable positions.
Reach. This one throws 40m of IR and 40m of white light against 30m and 20m on the mini, and tilts through 180° rather than 90°.
Yes — the 180° tilt lets it aim straight down from a soffit or ceiling without an extra bracket.
Yes. Run it on infrared alone where visible light would trouble neighbours; you lose the colour but keep the detail.
No — audio travels over the coax, provided the recorder supports audio over coax.
