Who is this 2MP IP kit for?

A complete wired IP system at the lowest price HiLook offers: a PoE NVR and 2MP (1080p) turret cameras, one Cat5e/Cat6 cable per camera carrying power and video, viewed on the HiLookVision or Hik-Connect app. Full HD is ample for a first system on a house, a small shop or a workshop where cameras are within about 15m of what they watch. Pick the camera count to match the positions you need to cover — 4-channel kits take up to four cameras, 8-channel kits up to eight, so buy the 8-channel version if you might add cameras later. Night vision is 30m infrared (black and white). If you want to read plates or faces at distance, the 4MP IP kits record twice the detail; for colour at night, build a system around the ColorVu 3.0 cameras and the NVR-104H-D/4P.

What you’ll need with it

• A surveillance-grade hard drive — choose one from the options and we fit and format it; 1–2TB suits a 4-camera 1080p system for weeks of recording.
• Cat5e/Cat6 cable to each camera position (up to 100m per run) and a network cable from the NVR to your router.
• An HDMI screen for setup; day to day most people use the app.

Yes, up to the NVR’s channel count — any HiLook or Hikvision IP camera, including ColorVu and 4MP models.

Is there a monthly fee?

No — recording is local to the NVR and the app is free.

Do the cameras need their own power?

No — the NVR’s PoE ports power them over the network cable.
