The Hikvision DS-PWA96-M-WE is the commercial-grade AX PRO panel — 96 zones, 32 areas, 4G with dual SIM, and a tag reader built into the panel itself.

How it differs from the 64-zone panel

This is a genuinely different specification, not a minor step up from the DS-PWA64-L-WE:

Dual SIM and 4G

Two SIM slots mean two mobile networks, so a signalling path survives one operator's outage or poor coverage at the building. With 3G/4G rather than GPRS, video verification actually uploads at a usable speed — which matters when an ARC operator is waiting on an image to decide whether to dispatch.

Wired ethernet and Wi-Fi are on board as well, giving four possible paths in total.

Tag reader in the panel

Users can present a tag at the panel itself to arm or disarm, without a separate keypad on the wall. On a small commercial unit where the panel sits by the door, that removes a device from the bill of materials entirely.

Four onboard video clips

The panel stores four video clips locally. Combined with PIRCAMs — up to 48 of the 96 zones — an alarm arrives with visual evidence held on the panel, not only in the cloud.

Thirty-two areas

With 32 independently armed areas across 96 zones, one panel can cover a building of multiple tenancies, a warehouse split by function, or a site with several outbuildings each armed on its own schedule.

46 users, 48 tags, 48 key fobs and a 5,000-event log record who armed what and when.

Worth knowing before you order

Hikvision specify the adapter must remain connected. The 12-hour battery is backup only, and performance drops considerably in the cold.

Dual SIM means two data plans if you want genuine network redundancy — worth budgeting for.

96 zones is a commercial specification. For a house or small shop the 64-zone panel costs considerably less and will very likely be ample.

PIRCAM limit is still 48, the same as the 64-zone panel — the extra zones are for conventional devices.
