The Hikvision DS-PWA96-M2H-WE is the AX PRO Ultra — a hybrid panel that takes 16 hardwired zones on board alongside the wireless devices, in a larger enclosure with a proper 12V battery.

Hybrid is the reason to buy it

Every other AX PRO panel is wireless only. This one has 16 wired zones and 2 wired outputs built in, which changes what it can be used for:

• Retrofit onto an existing wired system — keep the detectors and cabling that already work, and extend wirelessly where running cable is impractical
• Wired where it matters, wireless where it doesn't — mains-powered detectors on the critical points, battery devices elsewhere
• Two 12V outputs totalling 1A for powering wired devices directly from the panel

On a building with existing alarm wiring, this usually costs less than replacing every device — and it is the panel to specify when a customer wants to upgrade rather than start again.

A real battery, not an internal cell

It takes a 12V 7Ah storage battery giving up to 36 hours of standby — three times the 12 hours of the DS-PWA96-M-WE and its built-in lithium cell.

The battery is not included. Order one separately — it is a standard 12V 7Ah alarm battery.

Capacity

Four signalling paths

Wired ethernet, Wi-Fi, and 3G/4G with dual SIM — two mobile networks, so signalling survives one operator's outage. Plus RS-232 for integration.

Radio runs at 868 MHz with two-way communication, frequency hopping and AES-128 encryption.

Monitoring

Reports over SIA DC09 (SIA Level 2 and Contact ID), ISUP and ISAPI, with Hik-IP Receiver and Receiver Pro (Sur-Gard and Ademco 685), including video verification and remote control. It stores 4 video clips on board.

Worth knowing before you order

No battery in the box. Add a 12V 7Ah alarm battery to the order.

No tag reader in the panel, unlike the DS-PWA96-M-WE. Budget for a keypad if users will arm at the panel.

Upper temperature limit is 40°C, lower than the 55°C of the other panels. Avoid a hot plant room or an unventilated cupboard.

It is a much larger enclosure — 261 × 199 × 86.4 mm against 170 × 170 × 38.6 mm. Check the mounting position takes it.

If you have no existing wiring, the wireless-only DS-PWA96-M-WE costs less and adds a built-in tag reader.
