There is no sounder in this kit

Worth saying plainly, because the other 96-zone kits include one. This box contains no external sounder, one PIR rather than two, and one key fob rather than two.

Most installations will need a sounder — an alarm nobody can hear is a poor deterrent, and many insurers expect an audible device. Add a DS-PS1-E-WE unless the system is being monitored with no local audible requirement.

Who it is for

This kit suits an installer designing a system to the building rather than working from a fixed bundle. You get the full 96-zone panel — the expensive component — plus enough devices to commission and test, and then specify exactly the detectors the site needs.

On a job needing six PIRs, three contacts and two sounders, buying the starter kit plus the right devices usually beats buying a larger kit and leaving parts in the van.

Worth knowing before you order

No sounder, one PIR, one fob. Budget for the devices the site actually needs.

If you want a ready-to-fit bundle, 96 Kit 1 or 96 Kit 2 add a sounder, a second PIR and either a second fob or a keypad.

If 64 zones are enough — and for most buildings they are — the 64-zone kits cost considerably less.

Indoor only, −10°C to +55°C. The 12-hour battery is backup, not a power source.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include a siren?

No. This kit has no external sounder — add a DS-PS1-E-WE, or choose 96 Kit 1 or Kit 2 which include one.
