DS-TMG520-H — Barrier Gate, 3m Boom, 0.9s Rise, Dark Grey

The DS-TMG520-H is a barrier gate for a car park or yard entrance, supplied in dark grey. It is the 3-metre version of the DS-TMG520 barrier: Hikvision quotes a 0.9-second rise by default, adjustable to 1.2 or 2 seconds, and a 3-second fall adjustable down to 1.5 seconds. A DC brushless motor drives it, so there is no gearbox oil to change.

The body is SGCC steel rated IP54 and weighs about 59 kg, and the boom can be swapped to the other side of the lane on site. There are terminals for open, close and a detection input, so it takes a trigger radar, an inductive loop or an IR beam.

Frequently asked questions

How fast does the boom open?

Hikvision quotes 0.9 seconds by default for this 3-metre version, adjustable to 1.2 or 2 seconds. The fall is 3 seconds by default, adjustable to 1.5 or 2 seconds.

What length boom poles does it take?

Round poles from 1 to 4 m, octagonal poles from 1 to 6 m, or an octagonal telescopic pole from 4 to 6 m. Any pole of 5 m or more needs a spindle rod. The 3 m octagonal pole is the one supplied with this model.

Can the boom open to the left?

Yes. It opens to the right by default and the direction is switchable, so the same unit suits either side of the lane.

Will it drop on a car?

Not if it is set up properly. Fit a detection device — a radar, loop or IR beam — on the detection input, and add an anti-fall radar so the boom holds up while a vehicle is still underneath.

Do you fit barriers?
