Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Sounder) Jeweller - Wireless Fire Alarm Sounder
EN54 FireProtect (Sounder) Jeweller is a wireless fire alarm sounder for Ajax EN54 systems. It runs on four CR123A batteries, so it can be placed wherever the alarm needs to be heard without running a cable back to the panel, and its IP54 rating means it can be mounted inside or outside. In a fire it plays one of 32 tones at up to 100 dB at 1 m, in time with the other sounders on the same EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, and an audibility test lets you confirm the alarm can be heard around the building. This is the sounder-only version, with no flashing beacon. Choose black, red or white above.
Also listed as 118603 (black), 118604 (red) and 118602 (white). Ajax model ID FP.54A.J.

Common questions
Can it be mounted outside?
Yes. Ajax rates it IP54 for indoor and outdoor use, at -10 °C to +60 °C. Follow the fire safety rules that apply to the building when choosing where it goes.
Does it need a mains supply?
No. It runs on the four CR123A batteries supplied, with a calculated life of up to 5 years.
How loud is it?
Up to 100 dB at 1 m, depending on which of the 32 tones is chosen and the level set.
Does it flash as well?
No, this version is audible only. Ajax also makes the EN54 FireProtect (Sounder/VAD) Jeweller, which adds a visual alarm device, and the EN54 FireProtect (VAD) Jeweller, which is visual only.
Is the red version different?
Only in colour. Black, red and white share the same specification and price.
Who should design the system?
In the UK a commercial fire alarm is normally designed, installed and commissioned to BS 5839-1 by a competent fire alarm installer. We supply the equipment; we do not install it.
