Dahua DHI-XVR7216A-4KL-X — 16 Channel 4K Penta-brid CCTV DVR
The Dahua DHI-XVR7216A-4KL-X is a 16 channel 4K Penta-brid CCTV DVR (a digital video recorder), which Dahua calls an XVR, in a 1U case. It belongs to Dahua's Pro Series and auto-recognises the signal of each connected HDCVI, AHD, TVI or CVBS camera without any setting, while also taking IP cameras. It adds IoT and POS functions to Smart H.265+ recording, and has two SATA bays for hard drives of up to 10TB each.

Common questions
What does Penta-brid mean?
Dahua's Penta-brid recorders, a type of hybrid DVR, accept five kinds of video input: HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP. This XVR recognises the signal of the connected camera automatically. Our Penta-brid recorder guide explains more.
Is this a DVR or a CCTV recorder?
It is a CCTV recorder of the digital video recorder (DVR) kind. Dahua calls it an XVR, a Penta-brid digital video recorder with 16 BNC channels and two SATA bays for hard drives of up to 10TB each.
How many cameras can it record?
It has 16 BNC channels. Dahua lists IP camera input as 16+16 channels (32 channels of IPC access), each up to 8MP, within a maximum of 128Mbps incoming bandwidth.
Can it record 4K?
Yes. Dahua lists recording at 4K (up to 7fps per channel), 6MP, 5MP, 4MP and lower, with HDCVI and IP camera input up to 8MP (3840 × 2160).
Does it support POS?
Yes. Dahua lists POS functionality with ticket information overlay and search, aimed at retail programmes.

How far can HDCVI cameras be from the recorder?
