Common questions
Does the Dahua IPC-HF8232F-E come with a lens?
Dahua's datasheet gives a C/CS lens mount and lists no built-in lens, so treat it as a camera body that takes a C/CS-mount lens. The datasheet names optional Dahua lenses of 3.7 to 16mm (PLZ20C0-D) and 10.5 to 42mm (PLZ21C0-D). Contact us and we will check lens options with you before you order.
What does Starlight mean on this camera?
Dahua describes its Starlight technology as ultra-low-light imaging that captures colour detail in low light down to 0.001 lux, using optical features to balance light across the scene. Our Dahua Starlight guide explains it in more detail.
What resolution and frame rate does it record?
It records 2MP 1080P (1920 x 1080) at up to 50/60fps on the main stream.
How is it powered?
By PoE (802.3af, Class 0), or by DC12V or AC24V. The datasheet gives power consumption of less than 6.5W.
Does it support people counting and heat map?
Yes. The datasheet lists people counting, heat map and face detection, alongside IVS tripwire, intrusion and abandoned or missing object detection.
Is it weatherproof?
The datasheet lists no ingress protection (IP) rating, so we do not describe this camera as weatherproof. Dahua lists PFH610 series housings among its accessories for this model.
Will it work with a non-Dahua recorder?
The datasheet lists ONVIF Profile S and G. Tell us your recorder model and we will check.
Which other Dahua box cameras are there?
The IPC-HF5231E-E is a 2MP WDR box network camera, and the IPC-HF81230E-E is a 12MP 4K box network camera.
