The Hikvision DS-1280ZJ-DM22 - Dome Camera Junction Box is a genuine Hikvision junction box, designed to sit between the camera and the mounting surface so all cabling is enclosed, weatherproofed and out of sight.

Who is it for?

Fit a junction box on any external installation where the cable comes out of the wall rather than through the camera base — which is most retro-fit jobs, and nearly all brick and render. It hides the cable tails and connectors, keeps water off the joints, and gives you room to coil the slack that always ends up left over. On a tidy install it is the difference between a professional finish and a loop of Cat5e taped to the wall.

It also raises the camera slightly off the surface, which helps on textured brick or cladding where a flush base would sit unevenly.

Choosing the right one

• Match the box to the camera. Hikvision junction boxes are model-specific — the mounting holes and diameter must line up with the camera base. Check the model code against your camera's datasheet, or send us the camera model and we will confirm the right one.
• Colour. Suffixes indicate finish — (B) is black, (G) or /G is grey, plain is white. Match the camera so the finished install looks deliberate.
• Genuine parts. These are Hikvision originals, so the seals and threads are correct. Generic boxes often fit poorly and let water track in.

Do I actually need a junction box?

Not if the cable comes up through the camera base from inside. For surface-run cable outdoors, it is strongly recommended — it is what keeps the connections dry.
